Friday’s Favourites

Last week I shared the start of the stone work on our chimney. What a difference a week has made. The ‘jigsaw puzzle’ is almost finished and our landscapers (VDB Gardens) have done a wonderful job. Unfortunately for them, there are still some retaining walls out the back to clad. I’m sure they will be hallucinating about stone pieces by the end, if they aren’t already! The exterior painting and front verandah still need to be completed but its coming along.

Friday’s Favourites starts with a welcoming entrance. I wrote a post sharing 5 Tips For Styling An Entry and this one ticks all the boxes. I particularly love the bench seat which adds a softness to the space.

Of course I am drawn to the style of many American homes but love the opportunity to share Australian homes. This Queenslander has some beautiful design details and the grey subway tiles are a perfect choice to complement the marble benchtops.

Here is a more contemporary Australian kitchen that also has some unique features, including the fireplace and gorgeous herringbone timber flooring.
