4 Ways To Be Brave With Wallpaper

It’s no secret that I love wallpaper. It might stem back to my scrapbooking days (yep, it’s out there now!) where my weekly patterned paper purchase was an indulgence. To me, wallpaper can be the icing on the cake in a room. It’s the decorating piece that adds the personality through its injection of colour, texture or beautiful pattern. I am often suggesting wallpaper in client schemes but for many out there, the step from a painted wall to a wallpapered one is all too scary. So I would like to share 4 easy ways to be brave with wallpaper.

1. Behind A Shelf

Wallpapering the back of kitchen shelves or a bookcase can be a fun and cost effective way to add that little bit extra to a space.

Miss 10 has selected this image for her new bedroom inspo. Rather than wallpapering an entire wall, this is the perfect way to add some interest to the desk nook.

I love this idea. These shelves take on an entirely different look with a geometric background.

2. Accent One Wall

Wallpaper on one feature wall in a room can produce a great result. Wallpapering behind a bed is a perfect way to add colour. It provides a great backdrop to then add some co-ordinating pillows.

3. Wallpaper A Small Room

A great start to getting used to the wallpaper idea is to use it in a small space such as a closet. A glamorous metallic or monochrome pattern can create a luxe wardrobe space.

If the idea of a bold pattern makes you nervous, a plain but textured grasscloth is a gorgeous alternative. The range of colours of Grasscloth Wallpaper available is extensive.
