How To Create A Hamptons Style Bathroom

I was excited to be recently invited to write a guest blogpost for Perini Tiles. I wrote a previous post for their blog last year, Tile Trending (here). Given that selecting tiles is on my radar at the moment, it is perfect timing for me to share my thoughts on How to Create a Hamptons Style Bathroom.

Hamptons bathrooms are classic, elegant and timeless. I love that they can also be adaptable. With the addition of coloured towels, and bathroom accessories a new look can be achieved.

Here are some common elements to creating a Hamptons style bathroom:

1. Subway Tiles

These are generally white or marble.

2. Marble

Marble or natural stone is used for tiling, countertops or both. Marble tiles can be applied in various shapes such as hexagonal, basketweave and herringbone.

  1. OMGness, these bathrooms and those tiles! I can’t wait to build again and I will be bookmarking this post for when I do! x

  2. How do you seal (waterproof) the seam between the glass wall next to the tub and the wall? Is there a waterproof sealant?

    • Hi Grace,

I wish I could answer your question. I am thinking silicon but I would definitely seek advice from a builder or plumber. Hope this helps?

  3. I’m creating this type of bathroom now… tore it out from top to bottom… using marble flooring with brushed nickel fixtures… white soaking tub… dove grey walls and shutters in white on the two windows… shower is enlarged with Carrara marble tiling with the marble basket weave mid shower stall… which will be seamless.. vanity is urban grey with square sinks in porcelain with an amazing grey white marble with subtle streaks of soft green and light blue running thru it!! I added heated floors too!!! Can’t wait till it’s done!!! C. Thee

  4. Hi, Can you please tell me where the bathroom mirrors are from in #6? Exactly what I’m looking for..or maybe tell me what that style is called if you don’t know where they’re from? THANKS!

    • Hi Patty, that beautiful bathroom was done by Heather Garrett Design. Unfortunately I can’t help you with the source. Good luck!

    • Hi Jodi,

I’m not sure which basins you are asking about but unfortunately as I didn’t design these bathrooms myself, I probably can’t help you. Sorry!
