I have a bit of a kitchen design dilemma for our new house and I would love your advice! I have two double overhead cabinets on either side of my range hood. At the moment in the plans they all have glass fronts, similar to this layout.
I have always loved this look which features in so many of my favourite Hamptons style kitchens. The glass doors are more airy and not as visually ‘heavy’ as the solid alternative.
My issue is that these kitchens all have an abundance of storage, so the glass cabinets can be used to display pretty platters and glassware. My kitchen will have less storage space, so these cupboards will need to house day to day glassware and coffee cups. Therefore I am worried they will look a lot less ‘styled’. Especially with daily use by the girls and Mr Gallerie B.
I came across these images where the glass features at the top of the cupboard. This might be a good alternative but is it a half-hearted effort?
I would love to hear your thoughts. Do you have glass cabinets? How do you keep them looking pretty?
