Friday’s Favourites

I am starting off this week’s Friday’s Favourites with some photos from our new build (thanks for hanging in there with me!). This is the void at the top of the staircase which I have made into a window seat nook. It is such a bonus that this little space gets a great view of the city to the west and hills to the north. I have a wall sconce going in and am planning fabrics for the cushions. Given it is north facing I am definitely considering outdoor fabric.

This is another nook in the kitchen. The desk will be my ‘workstation’ and mum hub. The shelving next to it will be hidden from view for cookbooks etc and the adjacent shelving is part of the appliance cupboard. I know I ummed and ahhed for ages about the bench top decision (here). Well, here is the Carrara marble that I chose. I love its grey colour and the veining which has blue tones.

And now for some finished house inspiration. I love how this round ottoman allows the two armchairs to be placed on an angle, in a less formal arrangement. The white shelves are styled beautifully and complimented by the soft blue palette.

There are more blues to love in this classic kitchen which features a blue ceramic subway tile. The pleated pendant shades add a feminine touch.

The simple but effective use of repetitive planting creates this beautiful screen in this Sydney home. The raised timber decking adds another layer of interest.

To end with, here is some porch inspiration. What a great space for entertaining.

I am taking a week off from the blog next week as we are driving to Noosa. If anyone has any tips on how to keep kids entertained in the car for 2 days, I would love to hear them! It has been a few years since I have visited Noosa, so any recommendations of where to go/what to see are welcome too.

Have a lovely weekend.
