OK, I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t watched my fair share of The Block Glasshouse this season. I am very partial to the classic contemporary style of Darren and Deanne but one interior trend that is having its moment of glory in several apartments is copper. It has appeared in different forms, including pendant lights, a feature wall and sink. Polished and shiny, it adds that touch of glamour with a modern edge.

The warm tones of copper soften a contemporary space. I love it mixed with black and marble.
How glamorous is this dining space (compete with high chair!) featuring a Tom Dixon pendant?
My favourite trellis wallpaper takes a backseat as the copper pendants add the ‘wow’ factor to this room.
Copper kitchen accessories are right at home on this marble bench.
And taking it to the next level…..a copper roof, gutters and downpipes! I would love to see how this ages and changes colour over time.
