‘Tis The Season

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is almost here again. In saying that though, it couldn’t come quick enough. I have been really excited to decorate our home for its first Christmas. It’s crazy but our faux fir staircase garland was one of the very first things I bought for the house! I have never had a staircase, nor a mantelpiece before so have loved being able to finally add a touch of Christmas to both. I haven’t gone too over the top (yet!) but here is a snippet of how my Christmas decorating looks.

I re-vamped the bell wreath with a red striped ribbon. I also added a couple of silver bows to our topiary tree.

The pineapple door knocker is perfect to hang the wreath from.

Our sitting room has finally provided a mantle to hang the girls’ stockings that their grandmother made when they were babies. The felt ball wreath and garland are from Little Puddles and silver deer from Bed Bath n’ Table.

Here is the fir garland I sourced through a trade supplier.

The kids look forward to checking the Advent Calendar each day for their surprise.

I love the details on some of the pockets.

We were a bit underwhelmed when we put up the Christmas tree. Miss 11 was convinced that there was a section missing. No, the tree is just a bit on the short side for the higher ceilings in this house! Might need to re-think the size for next year. I do love that we can see it from the hallway and throughout the main living space.

I have gone with a blue, silver and white theme for the Christmas tree, with a touch of red. My favourite decorations are the blue and white tin ones from Montebello.

The nutcrackers now have a special home on the mantle in the living room.

I added a red bow to a simple green wreath from Provincial Home Living to hang above the range hood.

And another touch of red with a Poinsettia. My Christmas candle this year is the Glasshouse White Christmas. It has a delicious cedar and fruity clove scent which is perfect for the kitchen.

And I always love lighting the candles at night.
