Welcome to my first Gallerie B post for 2015. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and that this year brings much love and happiness to you and your families.
We just returned from a 3 1/2 week stay at our beach house on the Mornington Peninsula. I must admit it was one of our most relaxing holidays. Here are a few things I got up to:
Our ‘surf’ beach is questionable at times!
The girls are now both involved in the local surf beach Nippers program and this is where you would find us every second morning. Although the conditions were crazy at times (love Victorian summers!), they both had a ball.
We found a local babysitter so Mr Gallerie B and I were able to visit some of the local wineries and restaurants.
Coffees were drunk in some beautiful locations.
Flinders Golf Course (no filter!)
I saw one of the most spectacular sunsets.
Bushrangers Bay
We did a few local walks including one of my favourites, Bushrangers Bay.
I was still able to ‘dabble’ in some interior decorating with an external make-over on our little fibro beach house. We bought the house three years ago and had not really changed anything externally. It was a terrible salmon/light brown colour with zero street appeal. Here are some before shots.
The double doors were original and very daggy too. The deck was also in need of some TLC. So as you can see, things could only be improved!
With my father-in-law’s handy work, the doors were replaced with a new French Colonial profile. Then in came the painters to remove any traces of salmon-brown. I used Dulux Raku for the main exterior, Dulux Malay Grey for the baseboards, Dulux Vivid White for the doors and windows and Dulux Salt Spray for the front door.
My husband hired a high-pressure hose and the deck came up a treat. The painter was not so keen on my front door colour choice but I love the aqua. It is fun and beachy and also ties in with some of the interior accessories.
Malay Grey was used on the rear deck balustrades too.
This spot got a bit of a workout too!
