A Place To Pamper

The idea of having a dedicated pampering place in the bathroom was on my wish list for years. So the moment we started planning our new build and designing the bathrooms, I made sure a built-in vanity was included. It was going to look something like this. An additional space built in between the two sinks in our ensuite with a feature chair or stool.

As we progressed with the plans and things were added and removed, I started thinking about how I would use each space. I realised that this pampering zone seemed excessive. My rushed morning routine would never allow me time to sit down (or even perch!). Our ensuite is not huge and I started to wonder if it really would be used.

So the zone has gone (in place of some additional storage) but I can still admire this little luxury in other homes. There are some definite design details too that make this space special.
