Trend Alert: Bistro Chairs

by

Bistro chairs have been around for a long time but I have only recently started noticing them as an indoor dining chair option. Maybe it’s the Francophile in me but images like this are putting the French Bistro Chair on my radar.

American Interior Designers have been using them for a while in breakfast nooks and dining rooms. Their casual style lends itself to a Hamptons setting.

I am definitely considering bistro stools for my island bench. Not only are they are hard-wearing and practical, they are child-friendly and can be easily wiped clean.

Bistro chairs are unfortunately hard to find in Australia. They are more readily available in the hospitality industry. I have been able to track down some gems that have been reinterpreted from the original French model.

  1. I do love them up to an island bench. They just look so classic. But my fav is the banquettes in the corner. That looks like such a cosy breakfast nook.
