Kitchen Workstation

by

At the moment our kitchen bench is a dumping ground for the never-ending school newsletters and paperwork. It drives me crazy! I long for the day when the bench is clear of the paper trail. That is why a kitchen workstation or ‘mum’s nook’ is high on my list for the next house. A place to organise the kids’ activities and our mail. Here are some of my sources of inspiration.

I think if the space is in full view, storage would need to be ample to keep it looking tidy.

I love the built-in (and labelled!) drawers in this image.

An opportunity for a feature chair is always a good thing!

Ideally the nook is tucked away but still close enough to the action. I like the fact that the computer is within view when the kids are using it.

The built-in mail organisers are a great idea.

The marble tiling adds to the elegance of this mum’s nook.
